WetNose

About WetNose
Wet Nose Animal Rescue Centre was opened in April 1999 by Tracy Forte. Wet Nose is a registered non-profit organisation devoted to the rescue, rehabilitation and re-homing of lost, abandoned and neglected animals.

When an animal enters the care of Wet Nose it is sterilised, vaccinated, de-wormed, micro chipped and dipped. No animals are given to homes unsterilized, except in the case of puppies and kittens, where a voucher is issued and the animal must be sterilised at the age of 6 months old.

One of their largest responsibilities is to educate the public and to prevent unwanted litters.

Karoo Animal Protection Society (KAPS)

About KAPS
Based in the rural Klein Karoo, KAPS is the only mobile service delivering help for animals into the area's poor communities where it's needed most.

Working in 3 municipalities, with Outreach Programmes in 2 others, we check door-to-door for cruelty, starvation and neglect; feed, dip and medicate animals; educate owners; and carry out on average 2 days of free mass sterilising (in situ) of dogs and cats per month.

Pet Action Group

About Pet Action Group
The Pet Action Group is a Non Profit Animal Welfare Organisation which Judy Van Zyl started at the beginning of 2000. Our aim is to try and make a difference in the lives of animals in poverty stricken areas in and around Bloemfontein, Free State, South Africa.

We have felt that there is a great need to help the underprivileged by visiting them at their homes and educate them on the proper care and feeding of their pets. It is clear that the lack of knowledge plays the greatest part in improper care, uncontrolled breeding and even animal abuse.

The main problem in these poor areas is that people simply do not have the means, transport or finances to provide their animals with basic health care and veterinary treatment. As a result many animals suffer unnecessarily. We provide primary health care services, veterinary treatments and sterilisations at a reduced cost. Pet owners also receive food parcels for their dogs and cats.
