National Sterilization Project 068-048 NPO

Welcome to the NSP!

The National Sterilization Project is a new initiative targeted at reducing the growing number of unwanted and neglected pets, through an ongoing nationwide mass sterilization programme.

There is a massive upsurge of stray animals living in the most appalling conditions. According to newspaper reports, hundreds of dogs and cats are put down in South Africa each week simply because there aren’t enough homes for these animals.

Why Sterilize?

Poor communities are hard-pressed to care for their pets, and with the spread of unwanted animals there is a higher risk of spreading diseases such as scabies, rabies and toxoplasmosis.

We bring together animal welfare organizations, corporate sponsors, and members of the public united in a drive that will ultimately protect domestic animals.

NSP is passionate about South Africa and especially about its animals, which deserve to be treated with dignity. By working in partnership with the community, we can make a substantial difference in protecting these animals.

You can help make a real difference.
